Workwell is an Occupational Health and Public Health Advisory Service within Sandwell Primary Care Trust (PCT). We work in partnership with the business community and others in Sandwell to improve the health and wellbeing of the working age population of the Borough.

Occupational Health is concerned with the relationship between health and work, namely:

1. Effect of work on health – elements of a job which could put the worker’s health at risk.
2. Effect of health on work – elements of a workers health which could affect ability to do elements of their job or to give regular and reliable service.

We can provide advice and support to businesses on a range of Occupational Health issues and provide links to other sources of information and guidance. We can help you to understand and comply with H&S legislation and to ensure that workplace health risks are effectively managed. We can advise on rehabilitation and return to work, disability adjustments, absence management, health policies and many other measures to optimise staff performance and productivity.

To further enhance and maintain the health and wellbeing needs of employees, health promotion and improvement programmes, health assessments, stress awareness, access to physical activity opportunities and other services can be provided by our partners in PCT, and others, delivered at the workplace or at several venues throughout the Borough..
