WORKWELL is here to give you the support you need with this sometimes difficult subject. Our services are free to businesses in Sandwell to help to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of the working age population of the borough.

Occupational Health is concerned with the link between health and work, specifically:

1. The effect of work on health: Elements of a job that could put a worker’s health at risk
2. The effect of health on work: Elements of a worker’s health that could affect their ability to do their job or to give regular and reliable service

Many companies do not have access to Occupational Health Advice, yet they are responsible for the health of their employees at work. They are required to ensure that the workplace, its environment, practices, policies and procedures protect and promote employee health.

An employer is required to “make reasonable adjustment” to protect and ensure equality of employees with disability, but may struggle to know what the right adjustment is and whether it is reasonable.
