The ‘African Caribbean Health Improvement Service’ is a project that works with the African Caribbean Communities of Sandwell on issues related to health. The Project aim is: “To develop community health initiatives which aim to empower and support the African Caribbean communities in Sandwell”

 

Health Needs analysis


The purpose of this study is to explore the health needs of the African Caribbean population of Sandwell. The African Caribbean community is vastly under represented in service usage statistics, which means that there is little known about health inequalities, which may exist. This research aims to identify the reasons behind this and explore the contributing factors. This research will help to address the ‘real’ needs of the community.
