The ARO is an African Club, run by Africans themselves in order to address the core issues of African people living in the West Midlands, UK.

 

ARO's mission statement is to be sensitive and supportive to the issues affecting people from Africa by addressing the core problems, such as rejection and the traumatism of war. In doing so we are determined to help people to be integrated in the UK

 

The Aim of ARO is to establish a strong relationship and partnership with other groups so that African people may not be a burden to the host community but to become people responsible and capableto participate to the building of a better future.

 

The services provided by ARO are:

  • Providing free and confidential advice.
  • Helping with Moral and spiritual support for individual as well as families.
  • Escorting to offices and hospitals in order to help with interpretation and translation in may lanuguages such as French, English, Portugese, Kiswahili, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, Lingala etc.
  • Filing and any kind of forms.
  • Faxing and photocopying.
  • Helping with Education.
  • Helping with health issues affecting poor communities.
  • Helping refugees and asylum seekers to find houses.
  • Befriending.
  • Organising trips to places of interest, as refugees and asylum seekers cannot afford it.
  • Organising cutural activities and sport.
  • Supporting womens activities.
  • Helping with Immigration advice.
