Sandwell Council Library Services and Sandwell Primary Care Trust have been working together to develop this innovative new scheme called Books on Prescription aimed at helping individuals find new ways of coping with day-to-day concerns and improving their sense of wellbeing.
Books on Prescription is a scheme that allows selected self-help books to be prescribed by doctors and other primary care professionals. Once issued, the prescription can be exchanged for the book at any of the Sandwell libraries.
The selection of books available through Books on Prescription has just been increased, and the new range of books will become available at your local library during April! New titles include books on a whole range of topics, covering issues such as bereavement, relationships and sexuality.
So why not join the library during March and have your library card ready to use when these new books become available? With a library card you will not need a prescription to borrow one of these books!
Becoming a library member is easy, free, and open to everyone.
Becoming a member only takes a few minutes – you can join the Library online at http://libraries.sandwell.gov.uk , or in any branch. Throughout March, to make it even easier to become a member, you won’t even need proof of identity to join.
Visit a library this month to find out more about a host of incentives for borrowers, with great prizes to win, including I-Pods, high street vouchers, and a brand-new laptop.
