Domestic Violence: Some Facts | Print |

Domestic Abuse

Ring the 24 hour helpline 0845 359 7525

Approximately 90% of the victims of domestic violence are women. Violence also happens in lesbian and gay relationships and less commonly by women against men.

All forms of abuse - psychological, economic, emotional and physical - come from the abuser’s desire for power and control.

You do not have to put up with it, there are people here to help you.  You can get advice, help with moving out to a place of safety, or can talk through your situation.

Recognising domestic violence:

  • Destructive criticism and verbal abuse
