Supporting your voice in the NHS

POhWER is an advocacy agency working to promote respect and dignity for all.
POhWER is committed to giving people a voice and recognises the inequality that exists in society. One of the services POhWER provides in the West Midlands is the Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS).

POhWER ICAS Advocates can help if you feel you have not had the service you expect from the NHS and want to make a formal complaint.

ICAS can support you in a range of ways from providing you with information so you can make your own complaint to helping you write a letter and going with you to meetings. Your ICAS Advocate will help you to explore your options at every stage of the complaints procedure and answer questions to help you make decisions.

ICAS is a free, independent and confidential service. ICAS will act on your direction rather than the wishes of others.

ICAS cannot support you with matters outside of the NHS complaints procedure, investigate complaints or give legal or medical advice.

ICAS can provide information about our service in a number of languages and we can adapt the way we communicate with you, depending on your needs.  If you would like to find out more, please contact us or visit the website.
