The S.H.A.R.P Hostel: an Introduction  

Clients

We provide accommodation for men and women aged 18 plus. There is no upper age limit. We do occasionally take clients aged 16 and 17 and also have limited facilities for childless couples.

Length of Stay

We provide one emergency bed for a maximum of three nights. Those accommodated in this way may then be moved on to another more appropriate hostel or moved to a longer term bed in the S.H.A.R.P. hostel.

We anticipate that the maximum length of stay at our hostel would be three months. We provide help and support with resettlement and move-on accommodation.

Accommodation

We are a nine bed hostel with four single rooms, two rooms to be shared by two single people, and one self contained bedsit flat in which we are now accommodating childless couples.

All accommodation is self-catering. All bedrooms contain a cooker and fridge freezer.

We have one shower room, two toilets and one bathroom.

There is also a Community room which is open to residents from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. This room contains a TV and Video, games and there is access to a computer.

How to apply

We take:

• Direct applicants/self referrals - if you wish to contact us directly you should ring or call at the hostel between 9.30am and 11.30am.
• Referrals from outside agencies such as the CAB, Hospitals and the Community Mental Health Team
• Referrals from the Probation Service

Please note that background checks will be carried out.
