GardeningGrowing Opportunities at Ideal for All offers an exciting year round programme of garden and community based activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle, well being, healthy eating, learning and fun.

We have two beautiful gardens, Malthouse Garden in Smethwick, and Salop Drive Market Garden, a three acre community
garden in Oldbury which produces fresh fruit and vegetables. The gardens offer a year round range of activities including school visits, therapeutic gardening, a ‘Gardening From Home’ programme for those with long-term conditions, and vocational training for 14-16 year olds. We also offer outreach, advice and gardening workshops across the community.

Where is it based?

Ideal for All has two fully accessible flagship gardens, Malthouse Garden (B66 1JE) and
Salop Drive Market Garden (B68 9AG), with facilities including polytunnels, indoor learning space, glasshouses, raised beds,
outdoor growing area, wildlife gardens and toilets.

Can’t come to us? Let us come to you!

Why not book one of our horticulture therapists to come and deliver fun, educational, hands on garden workshops at your school, college, youth or community centre?

The garden outreach activities are fully accessible and are open to anyone resident in Sandwell and adjoining areas. Activities are tailor made to suit the individual or group needs. (Examples include; planting and potting salad pots and herbs, making a hanging basket, women only groups etc) We can also offer advice and information to groups thinking of planning and setting up their own garden or allotment.
