Keep Warm Keep Well

Sandwell PCTs 'Keep Warm, Keep Well' campaign gets bigger and better.

Older people and those with conditions such as heart disease, asthma and diabetes, are at risk from the effects of cold weather.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, the partnership of health, social care, voluntary and independent organisations, will be working together to promote the message about the importance of keeping warm this winter.

The PCT is  working closely with Sandwell Homes, Community Alarms and the Wardens Service who will  pass on the campaign materials for the people they work with.

Sue Howard, Older Peoples Policy Officer at Sandwell’s Joint Policy Unit, explained: “With the cost of fuel bills rising sharply, there are particular concerns this winter.  There are lots of simple things people can do to ‘Keep Warm and Keep Well’. By joining forces with people like the Fire Service, Age Concern and the special needs library service, to name but a few, the PCT hopes  to ensure these simple messages are given to as many older people as possible.”
