Gender Matters is a charity for transgendered, transvestite, transsexual people and their families and friends.

It offers support and advice. They also offer training to businesses, service providers and other support groups on trans issues throughout the Western Midlands.

They are based at the Gender Identity Centre in Wolverhampton, the only such centre in Europe. They are in the process of setting up local self-help groups across the West Midlands and already operate in Wolverhampton, Coventry and Stoke-on-Trent and are in discussion to set up groups in Sandwell (West Bromwich), Walsall, Shrewsbury, Birmingham and Telford.
