As part of our partnership working with Sandwell Primary care Trust we co-ordinate the placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) across Sandwell.

There are a number of machines placed across the borough in venues such as G.P. Surgeries, Health Assessment Centres and Leisure Centres.

An AED is a machine that can restart the heart by giving an electric shock in some cases of cardiac arrest.

A cardiac arrest is when the heart stops pumping effectively and the person collapses. Many people who have had successful treatment with an AED can stay healthy for many years.
