Heartstart Sandwell is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation’s Heartstart UK initiative.

 

Heartstart UK is dedicated to promoting and developing Emergency Life Support (ELS) training through out the United Kingdom.

 

As a community Heartstart scheme, we offer FREE emergency life support training to the local community (Sandwell & Dudley boroughs).

 

We currently offer 2-hour training sessions to small businesses, community groups, patient groups, Scouts, Guides and some secondary schools. We hold regular evening public sessions at Sandwell hospital.

 

Emergency life support sessions comprises the essential actions needed to maintain life in an emergency theses include:

  • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Dealing with an unconscious person who is breathing
  • Dealing with a suspected heart attack casualty
  • Dealing with chocking or an obstructed airway
  • Dealing with serious and life threatening bleeding

We are also able to travel to a venue of your choice to deliver to a group of 6 people or more.
