Young people under 12 need the consent of their legal guardian, and those 13 years and over need to give their consent to attend an initial assessment and then subsequent counselling sessions with the service.
The service offers those young people who want to attend counselling the space to talk, discuss their issues and to work out what they want to do to reduce or manage the affect their issues have on their day to day life. We have young people refer to us for all manner of reasons, e.g. low self esteem, bereavement, difficulties at school or home, anger management, relationship difficulties at school or home, anxiety following an assault or abuse, sexuality or self harm. The service will try to offer counselling at a location convenient to the client.
Office Opening times are weekdays 9.30am - 4.30pm
Counsellors are available weekdays from 9.30am - 7.30pm and on Saturdays 10am - 2pm.
Out of hours there is an answer machine and messages will be answered the next working day.
