Who we are

Independent Age promotes independence for older people.  We provide reliable, discreet and confidential help to older people who are struggling to make ends meet.

Across the UK and Ireland thousands of older people enjoy the support and friendship of our volunteer visitors.

Supporting You 

Applicants must:

• be over 70
• be resident in the British Isles
• have income and capital (or savings) below certain amounts set by us. We do not include the value of property and are able to assist homeowners.

Who We Help

We support older people on low incomes who have made a significant and sustained contribution to society in some way, perhaps through their job, or by having done voluntary work.

We provide:

• A regular small income for life

We can also offer you:

• The support and friendship of our volunteers
• Grants for emergencies
• Help with equipment to aid independence
