Sandwell PCT’s cycling sessions give you the skill and confidence to get out on your bike more.  They are ideal for:

  • Young people going to college and fed up waiting for the bus
  • Young mums who want to help their kids use their bikes safely
  • Men looking for a way to stay fit that you can build into a busy schedule
  • Women looking to keep their weight down
  • Older men who enjoyed cycling years ago and want a gentle exercise to stay healthy

Sandwell plans a network of cycle routes to link up 18 main local centres in the borough.

Several of the links are already complete – for a free map call the number below.

In 2010 look out for improvements to the link between West Bromwich and the Scott Arms.

You can join “Cycling in Sandwell” for free.  Call the 0800 number below and ask to join.  You’ll get:

  • Information on the developing route network and chance to have your say about it
  • The occasional colour newsletter (now on 11th edition)
  • Dates of family bike rides around Sandwell Valley
  • News about meetings of the group

Think you can already ride a bike well enough?  Think again!  Over 200 adults have benefited from our cycling sessions.  One-to-one sessions are available at a time and place to suit you, whatever your level of experience.  Learn how to:

  • influence traffic
  • feel safer
  • enjoy cycling more
  • go more places on your bike

Our sessions help you use the road.  Riding on the pavement is slow, illegal and often less safe than going on the road anyway.

Your first one hour sesson is free!  Later sessions are £5 per hour or free for Job Seekers.  Sessions are open to adults, teenagers and family groups.

  • Complete beginners are welcome.
  • Female and male instructors are available
  • Includes basic bike maintenance tips
  • We will cycle any journey with you
