Living Well in Later Life | Print |

In 2006 the council and its partners published a plan called “Living Well in Later Life in Sandwell” .  Based on what local Older People told us, this plan described a shared vision for improved quality of life and well-being, focusing on what needed to change and improve. There were nine priorities, with actions to be taken by 2010.

In March 2007 the council approved a report from a two year Select Committee on older people in the borough.  This highlighted the challenges of an ageing population, endorsed the “Living Well” plan, and recommended that the council should take a stronger, more positive approach to helping older citizens to stay active, healthy and independent.
