Aims and Objectives

RES's Aims:

• To dialogue with Sandwell residents and those who provide services and employment in the borough around the issues of race equality
• To monitor and influence the development and implementation of race equality and practices in the borough
• To facilitate the coordination of activities that enhance community cohesion and social inclusion
• To provide necessary services such as support for those who have suffered from racial harassment and discrimination

The Objectives of RES are:

• To work towards the elimination of unlawful discrimination, but especially of the kind based on colour, ethnicity or race.
• To promote equality of opportunity within Sandwell and across the borough's public, private, voluntary and community sectors
• To promote good relations between persons and communities of different racial groups
