The Employment Equality Regulations 2003

 

The Employment Equality (sexual orientation) Regulations 2003 outlaw discrimination and harassment on the grounds of sexual orientation within all areas of emplyment and vocational training.

 

The regulations protect lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and heterosexuals from being discriminated against because of:

 

a) their sexual orientation
b) the sexual orientation of people they associate with
c) the assumed perception of their sexual orientation, whether correctly or incorectly assumed.

 

The Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulations 2003 outlaw discrimination and harassment on the grounds of religion or belief within all areas of emplyment and vocational training.

 

The regulations protect from being treated less favourably than others becuase of:

 

d) their religion or belief
b) the religion or belief of people they associate with
c) the assumed perception of their religion or belief, whether correctly or incorectly assumed.
