Floating support sandwell 

This service is for ex-offenders or those at risk of re-offending, in Sandwell, aged between 18 and 65 years old, who need support with issues such as:

  • Establishing and maintaining a  home
  • Liaising  with other agencies
  • Help with filling in forms
  • Help claiming benefits
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Alcohol and Substance misuse
  • Mental Health problems or learning disabilities
  • Accessing health care
  • Education, Training and Employment
  • Accessing leisure activities
  • Developing domestic/ life skills

Aims of the service

The service will be provided during office hours only, Monday to Friday.  The maximum length of time you can stay on the scheme is one year.

  •  Liaise with  other agencies
  •  Ensure you are claiming the right benefits
  •  Support  you with managing your finances
  •  Advocate with other agencies on your behalf
  •  To treat you with dignity and respect
  •  Help  you gain access to other services
  •  Help  you to establish education and training
  •  Help you to find and sustain employment
  •  Offer advice on managing  debts
  •  Signpost you  to programmes that address offending behaviour
  •  Promote independence
  •  Enable you to have your cultural and religious needs met
  •  Advise on tenant's rights and responsibilities

Services we cannot provide

The scheme is funded by Supporting People, the aim of which is to help people develop their independent living skills.  Therefore we cannot: 

  •   Manage medication
  •   Provide child care
  •   Manage your money
  •   Cook, clean or shop for you
  •   Provide personal care
  •   Provide a taxi service and run errands

How to apply 

General enquiries about the service can be made to Adullam Homes Housing Association Ltd.  Referrals will be accepted from Probation and other agencies such as Social Services or Mental Health Teams.  Applicants will have an offending background.

 

Applicants will be invited for an informal interview when we have received all necessary documentation, where your support needs will be assessed.

 

Applications will then be discussed at a selection meeting and the applicant will be notified of the decision.   

 

If further information is required to support the Application, it will be sought before a decision is made.

 

If you are not accepted onto the scheme you have the right of appeal.
