Millennium Volunteers

Millennium Volunteers (MV) is a UK wide initiative to encourage, support and recognise 16-24 year olds who volunteer their time to benefit others in the local community. MV is managed by Wolverhampton Rathbone Training, and have a Cyber Cafes in West Bromwich, with opportunities in childcare, environment, animal welfare, mentoring, support advocacy and sports in Sandwell.

Through volunteering in areas in which they have a special interest, volunteers can build their hours to a 100hr certificate and 200hrs award. It doesn't stop there; when a young person attends an interview, the skills learnt through volunteering are something that potential employers value.

Cyber Cafe

Young people aged 16-24 have free Internet use, with a fast connection available, to surf the net and play games. There is also a quiet area for creating CVs, jobsearch and assignments. Volunteering with Cyber Cafe is very much a Youth led activity, with volunteers managing the cafe on a day to day basis.
