Sexual health matters to us and we can help.
We operate a friendly, relaxed and confidential service, in comfortable pleasant surroundings. Privacy is respected at all times.
Why should I come to your clinic?Your sexual health is just as important as your general health and it is in your own best interests to take it seriously. Anyone who is having sex can get an infection. You do not have to be promiscuous! It could take only a single occassion with one person to put you at risk from herpes, genital warts, gonorrhoea, TV and infestation (pubic lice), chlamydia or possibly HIV. However, most people who are checked often do not have an infection.
Do I need to attend if I have no symptoms? Some infections show no symptoms either in men or women until complications begin. So don't wait for symptoms to appear. If you think you may have an infection contact the Dartmouth Clinic (as soon as possible) for a check up.
Gonorrhoea and chlamydia can cause pelvic infection which may lead to infertility or ectopic pregnancy.
Do I have a choice of a male or female doctor?Yes, we like to give you a choice where this is possible. How do I make an appointment?Telephone: 0121 580 0929 (Direct line)
Opening Times Monday: 11.30am - 7.30pm
If you prefer just speak to the Health Adviser or a nurse, who will be more than happy to give you advice or information. Will I need to tell my partner? If you are found to have a sexually transmitted infection such as gonorrhoea, although it may not be easy, you will need to discuss it with your partner. The Health Adviser or Doctor will advise you on how to do this.
