World Diabetes Day (1:00AM)

World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign for diabetes. It is celebrated each year on 14 November. The campaign is led by the International Diabetes Federation. In 2007, World Diabetes Day became an official United Nations world day, following the passage of the United Nations World Diabetes Day Resolution in December 2006.

FREE Islam Awareness (11:00AM)

This event aims to bring communities in Sandwell together to find out more about Islam and Muslims in Sandwell. 

 

The day will provide an opportunity to develop knowledge on Islam, view Islamic Exhibition, Islamic Arts and Calligraphy, dispel common myths and misconceptions and an opportunity to ask questions. 

 

Presentations on the day will include:

  • Basic Principles of Islam
  • Women in Islam

Polly Wright and Mandy Ross have been commissioned by the Core Skills Development Partnership to develop reading networks within health settings in Birmingham.

 

The aim of the seminar is to showcase the growing body of evidence from Merseyside demonstrating the health benefits of reading, and to explore the possibilities of developing reading for wellbeing locally.
