Keeping the streets of Sandwell clean and tidy

 

£75 fine for litteringThe mass clean up efforts of over 3500 volunteers during The Big Spring Clean earlier this year have not gone unnoticed. Sandwell Council have launched an intense ‘zero tolerance on litter’ campaign to fight the battle against litter in the borough.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the £75 fixed penalty notice for littering enforced by Sandwell wardens and focuses on a crack down of cigarette butts, fast food and snack related litter.

  • Clean main roads once a week.
  • Litter pick roads every four weeks.
  • Mechanically sweep pavements every six weeks.
  • Mechanically sweep channels every eight weeks.
  • Remove accumulations of rubbish from Council land.
  • Empty litter bins before they are full.
  • Help with your locally organised cleanups.

  • Being tidy with your litter and chewing gum.
  • Using the free refuse tips.
  • Having waste collection contracts for your business.
  • Not leaving your dog’s mess for others.
  • Not "Fly Posting" - it’s untidy and illegal.
